Bonita Packaging Products was founded in late 1989 creating the only full line retail packaging supplier in the USA. Equipment was purchased, a building was secured, and production started in early 1990. Bonita merged with Pioneer Gift Wrap in 1992 and consolidated the operations in Portland. Pioneer Gift Wrap was a well-established manufacturer of gift wrap in the United States. In October of 1999 Bonita Pioneer acquired Daishowa Canada’s operation in Winnipeg and renamed the operation Red River Packaging Products Ltd.
